Renee Thonard Award 

Named in honour of Renee Thonard, a founding member of the MS Society, who was committed to helping people with MS live life to the fullest.

The Renee Thonard Award is the MS Society’s most prestigious award, given annually in recognition of consistent and valuable service to the MS Society. This service has made a real difference in the lives of people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).  

The award was created in recognition of a founding member of the MS Society, Renee Thonard. Helping to establish the organisation in 1963 and serving as Honorary Secretary from 1968 to 1997, Renee was a greatly respected contributor in improving the lives of people with MS.  

The MS Society is calling for nominations for the 2026 Renee Thonard Award.

Guidelines

This award recognises the outstanding contributions made to the MS Society SA & NT. Whether it’s supporting our organisation, our Clients, or their families and carers. Nominations are open to everyone. You can nominate yourself, a friend, or a group who gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of people with MS.

  • Nominations open:  Friday 9 October
  • Nominations close:  Friday 30 October
  • Winner announcement:  21 November 2026 at the Adelaide Client Christmas luncheon
